Blood consists of several components: plasma and cellular elements such as red blood cells and white blood cells. During blood donation, the entire blood composition is collected, while during plasma donation only the plasma is collected. After separating the plasma, the useful blood cells are returned to the donor’s body. After plasma donation, with proper nutrition and fluid intake, the body typically regenerates within 48 hours.
